Overview

Reporting to the Parts Manager, the Parts Counter Clerk is the first point of contact when customers call or walk in. This position plays an integral and vital role by listening to customers, determining which parts are needed, and communicates with appropriate departments to ensure customer satisfaction.  

 

Responsibilities

Includes, but is not limited to,

  • Greet customers upon entry of store. Communicates the work that is needed to appropriate personnel.
  • Answers outside calls accurately and efficiently
  • Create and close invoices for customers
  • Assist with general office duties needed to support the Parts Manager
  • Responsible for the receipt and flow of all incoming work
  • Must be able to evaluate, understand, and communicate truck parts and how they work
  • Establish customers’ method of payment, Purchase Order requirements and estimate requirements if needed at time of write up.

Candidate Knowledge

  • Excellent customer service skills
  • International, Cummins, and Allison truck parts (preferred)
  • Familiar with computers  
  • Medium to high degree of product and mechanical knowledge.
  • Must be a team player with a strong sense of commitment to the customer.
  • Must be self-motivated and have good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must conduct her or himself in a professional manner.

 

Hours

Monday through Friday 8:00AM to 5:00PM. Overtime and seasonal Saturday work as needed.     

 

Pay

$18 - $20/hourly
